The last Saturday of the month is the regular Portrait session at the Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop, I painted two studies, a 20 x 16 80 minute oil, and an A3 size 40 minute oil
The Springwood Art Show is on this coming weekend, and I'll be putting 3 paintings in, including this landscape finished at Wheeny Creek this week. My car battery went flat when I was down there, and I had to get a lift out so that I could get phone reception in order to ring the NRMA to help me get it started again!
When I arrived at Richmond Art Supplies for our monthly portrait group I was surprised to find local artist Bill Cooke was sitting for us, I did an oil sketch 80 or 100 minutes, and an experiment with pastel 35 minutes
A few weeks, in conjunction with the visiting Archibald Prize exhibition ago we painted the Hawkesbury Mayor at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery. Yesterday three artists got together at the Little River Studios and and had an enjoyable time painting a portrait of the Mayor's mother. She is a delightful bright cheerful and intelligent lady!
I'll have to try and do some more to this sketch. |
