This weekend is the annual exhibition of the Blue Mountains Creative Arts Center's life drawing group in Glenbrook. Richard Cutler a former BMCAC president and life drawer for over 50 years gave a passionate speech at the opening on Friday night I put in six small framed works and nearly 300 drawings in folders and sketchbooks among some of the other works were Richard's large colourful and expressive works...he usually produces 3 of these every week!
St Johns Anglican Church at Wilberforce had their annual Spring Fair yesterday. I was asked do a portrait demonstration as a part of it, and I did this portrait sketch of Barry, who is 'Mr Music' for some of the retirement homes in the area... hard to tell how long it actually took with all the conversations but well over an hours painting I found there was still time in the day to go across to the monthly portrait group at Richmond Art Supplies in Richmond and get a couple of sketches done there as well!
The Hawkesbury art Fair 2017 was officially opened tonight by Hawkesbury deputy Mayor Barry Calvert. It's a great exhibition showcasing local artists from many local organizations as well as individual artists. As a member of the 'Piggery Lane Studios' I had a few of my landscapes included in the Exhibition which will be open daily for public viewing (all works for sale) until the 8th of October, at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, Deerubbin Centre Windsor |
