The 'Chalk on George' Street Art Event in Windsor today, which was organized by Hawkesbury Council, in conjunction with the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery and the Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop was a great success. Seven locations down George Street Windsor from the Mall to the Regional Gallery had artists doing chalk art of various subjects.
My portrait of Blue Mountains Artist James Hancock was a bit of a challenge as initially I was going to do an Indigenous face but was asked not to, and the texture of the wall and the colours I had required a bit of experimenting along the way, but it seemed to work out!
Hawkesbury Mayor Barry Calvert (pictured) seemed pleased with the Community engagement, and it was a day of non stop talking to the passers by with lots people stopping to take photographs!
