Alan Somerville is a Master Sculptor and one of Australia's most important Artists, He is a friend of the Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop and has given many workshops over the years. This weekend he is giving a 2 day Clay Sculpture workshop.
Not having had any experience in clay sculpture or modeling it was good to spend day one floundering around with clay.
The day consisted of 4 quick pencil sketches of the model and then a start with the clay, two different poses and two different techniques... and we will be back tomorrow to add some more!
